Osteomyelitis associated with pressure-induced injury

The radiograph shows left femoral head (dashed arrow) and pelvic (arrow) osteomyelitis associated with ischial and trochanteric pressure-induced injury, which necessitated Girdlestone resection arthroplasty. Myocutaneous flaps are often required in these cases to fill in dead space as well as to provide durable skin coverage.
