Pressure-induced injury in an ischemic foot

Pressure-induced injury in an ischemic foot
The patient developed a pressure-induced wound overlying the 5th metatarsal head, which had been present for several months. The wound, which became acutely infected, was debrided and treated with antibiotics. The tissue loss extended on the plantar surface to the 4th metatarsal head, reducing the available tissue to primarily close a partial 5th ray amputation. With interim negative pressure wound therapy, secondary closure was achieved.
