Pyomyositis complicating a deep thigh hematoma in a child

This boy presented in septic shock 1 week after falling down and sustaining a hematoma of the left thigh. (A) On presentation, the thigh was swollen and tender. (B) Computed tomography (CT) with contrast shows pyomyositis with muscular swelling (arrowheads) and abscess (arrow).
