Frostbite arthropathy

Frostbite arthropathy
The photograph above (image A) from 2019 shows the hands of a 35-year-old man who sustained severe frostbite in 2002. The left index finger was amputated due to sequala. Progressive swelling of all the remaining proximal interphalangeal joints began in 2012, but the thumbs were spared. The AP radiograph of the hands (image B), also taken in 2019, shows severe degenerative, arthritic changes involving the proximal and distal interphalangeal joints of both hands.
