Lightbulb technique for hip osteonecrosis

Lightbulb technique for hip osteonecrosis
When using the lightbulb technique for the management of hip osteonecrosis, the surgeon removes a portion of bone from the femoral neck to make a cortical window (A) that allows access to the necrotic bone. After debriding the necrotic bone and packing the area with bone graft material, the surgeon uses a bone allograft and resorbable pins to close the cortical window (C).
