Lightbulb technique for hip osteonecrosis

The figures illustrate the lightbulb technique for managing hip osteonecrosis. A window is created by removing a portion of bone from the femoral neck (A). The necrotic bone in the femoral head is debrided (B), and after bone graft material is placed into the void, the cortical window is closed with bone allograft fixed into place with resorbable pins (C).
