Obstructive pattern on spirometry in a child with bronchiectasis

Spirometry of a child with mild cylindrical bronchiectasis. This shows a mild obstructive pattern (reduced FEV₁ with preserved FVC); this is the classical abnormality in children with bronchiectasis.

FEV₁: forced expiratory volume in 1 second; FVC: forced vital capacity; FEV1% FVC: FEV1 as a percent of FVC; MFEF 75 to 25: maximal forced expiratory flow between 75 and 25% of FVC.
