Electron microscopy of nail-patella syndrome

Electron microscopy. Phosphotungstic acid stain (×16,000). Clusters of cross-banded fibrillar type III collagen within the glomerular basement membrane (GBM). Lesions are irregularly distributed within thick GBM segments while other GBM segments have a normal aspect.
