Malignant, hypoechoic thyroid nodule with ill-defined margins

Hypoechoic nodule in the background of Hashimoto's thyroiditis. The margins of the nodule are difficult to visualize due to the similarity in echotexture of the nodule and the thyroid parenchyma. This nodule was a papillary thyroid carcinoma.
