Rear leg elevated squat

Rear leg elevated squat
The rear-leg-elevated squat is a useful exercise for developing lower extremity strength. The photograph above shows the bottom position of the exercise. The top or standing position is achieved by pushing off through the heel of the forward leg until you are standing straight. Moving from the standing position to the bottom position and then back to standing constitutes one repetition. Weight is distributed primarily onto the forward foot; the rear foot helps to provide balance.
