Ratio of choroid plexus to head size in fetuses with spina bifida

Ratio of choroid plexus to head size in fetuses with spina bifida
Axial views of head in fetuses at 13 weeks of gestation. Measurements were performed at level of transventricular plane, with both choroid plexuses (CPs) visualized. (A) Head area was calculated using ellipse function. Left and right CPs were traced separately and both areas were totaled. Occipitofrontal diameter (OFD) and longest diameters of left and right CPs were measured. (B,C,D,E) Measurements in normal fetus and fetus with open spina bifida (OSB) are compared; note large and long CPs in comparison to head size in fetus with OSB (C,E) in comparison to normal fetus (B,D).
