Stent-related factors

Implantation of an older-generation DES, such as sirolimus, paclitaxel, or early-generation everolimus stent

Prior stent thrombosis

Clinical factors

Treated diabetes

Chronic kidney disease

Ischemic event post-PCI

Vascular disease including myocardial infarction or peripheral vascular disease

These factors increase risk of ischemia after PCI and stenting for chronic coronary syndrome.

PCI: percutaneous coronary intervention; DES: drug-eluting stents.

* Some experts use >30 mm, and some use a cut-off of >60 mm to define long stent length.
