The CNS-IPI was developed using data from >2000 patients (age 18 to 80 years) with aggressive B-cell lymphomas (80 percent DLBCL) treated with rituximab and CHOP-like chemotherapy, who were enrolled in prospective studies and analyzed for occurrence of relapse/progression in the CNS; the resulting risk model was validated with an independent data set of >1500 patients with DLBCL.^[2]
