Targets for preductal SpO₂ during neonatal resuscitation in the delivery room

This table summarizes the target SpO₂ values for neonates undergoing resuscitation in the delivery room. The oximeter probe should be placed in a preductal location (ie, on the right upper extremity, usually the wrist or medial surface of the palm). Immediately following birth, the neonate's oxygen saturation normally remains in the range of 70 to 80% for several minutes.
