Variable regional involvement of cerebral palsy

Variable regional involvement of cerebral palsy

Cerebral palsy may be asymmetric and unilateral, affecting one limb (monoplegia) or one side of the body (hemiplegia). It may also be asymmetric and bilateral, affecting one side of the body more than a contralateral limb (triplegia) or symmetric and bilateral, affecting either the legs more than arms (diplegia) or all limbs (tetraplegia).

Darker shading indicates greater dysfunction; lighter shading indicates less severe dysfunction.
