Hypertrophic scar before and after treatment with corticosteroid tape

Hypertrophic scar before and after treatment with corticosteroid tape

(A) View before treatment started.

(B) Three years after starting deprodone propionate plaster.

A 50-year-old female patient developed a hypertrophic scar after cesarean section surgery. She was told to wear a deprodone propionate plaster continuously. The plaster was only changed during bathing or if it became loose. The scar softened within 6 months of starting the treatment. By the third year, the scar had flattened completely and now had a color similar to its surrounding skin.
