Prone knee-chest position for examination of the perineum in a prepubertal female

The prone knee-chest position is helpful in evaluating the anogenital region. In females, it permits better visualization of the posterior hymen and vagina than the supine frog leg position. An otoscope can be used to provide a magnified view of the structures.
