Naloxone injection

Naloxone for injection comes as a vial and syringe (panel A) or a pre-filled syringe (panel B).

For the vial and syringe – Remove the caps from the vial and needle. Fill the syringe with naloxone from the vial. Give the shot into the thigh, buttock, or shoulder.
For the pre-filled syringe – Remove the needle cap. Push the needle into the thigh muscle. Press the plunger until it clicks. Hold for 2 seconds, then remove.
