* Mild to moderate BDD is characterized by the absence of suicidal intent and behaviors. If suicidal thoughts are present, they do not pose an imminent risk. In addition, distress and psychosocial impairment are mild to moderate, as are any comorbid depressive symptoms. At any point in treatment, it is reasonable to add cognitive-behavioral therapy specific for BDD.
