CT mesenteric angiogram consistent with polyarteritis nodosa

CT mesenteric angiogram consistent with polyarteritis nodosa
A 72-year-old male patient presented with acute abdominal pain and rectal bleeding. CT mesenteric angiogram shows a large hematoma in the upper abdomen from a ruptured aneurysm arising from an inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery branch and multiple small aneurysms of the SMA and several other intra-abdominal arteries. Volume-rendered three-dimensional reconstructed image from an intra-arterial CT by means of a 4-F catheter in the SMA shows innumerable microaneurysms (arrow) arising from multiple branches of the SMA and areas of luminal narrowing (dashed arrow), consistent with polyarteritis nodosa.
CT: computed tomography; SMA: superior mesenteric artery.
