Pump pocket infection draining from a left thoracotomy wound

This infection was diagnosed 6 years after left ventricular assist device implantation via a left thoracotomy. There is purulent drainage from the thoracotomy site and a healed sternotomy scar from remote coronary artery bypass surgery.
