Lymphoepithelial lesion in Sjögren's disease

Lymphoepithelial lesion in Sjögren's disease

Lymphoepithelial lesion in Sjögren's disease.

(Panel A) Dense periductal lymphoid infiltration is seen in this parotid gland of a patient with Sjögren's disease. The lymphoid infiltrate has a distinct structure, with a crescent-shaped follicle (arrow) and adjacent zone of dark staining small lymphocytes, extending to and surrounding the duct (box).

(Panel B, inset) Lymphocytic infiltration of the ductal epithelium is associated with marked epithelial cell hyperplasia and narrowing of the ductal lumen.
