Indications for polysomnography in patients with neuromuscular or chest wall disorders

This algorithm summarizes our approach to performing polysomnography in patients with neuromuscular or chest wall disorders who are at risk of a sleep-related breathing disorder. The evaluation for a sleep disorder is often done in conjunction with evaluation for respiratory muscle weakness and requires testing for the latter. This algorithm is intended for use in conjunction with additional UpToDate content.
