Newly diagnosed endometrial cancer: Risk stratification after surgery

Newly diagnosed endometrial cancer: Risk stratification after surgery

FIGO: International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics; LVSI: lymphovascular space invasion; MMRd: mismatch repair deficient; p53abn: p53 abnormal; POLEmut: DNA polymerase epsilon mutated.

* Endometrial carcinoma is surgically staged; the 2023 FIGO staging system is presented separately.

¶ Other histologies (eg, serous, clear cell, carcinosarcoma, mixed, undifferentiated, mesonephric-like, and gastrointestinal mucinous type carcinomas) are considered high risk.

Δ Molecular factors should be obtained, if feasible, in all cases of endometrial cancer to help inform prognosis and guide treatment decisions. However, testing may not be widely available, can be costly, and data on molecular testing are limited.
