Treatment of acute calcium pyrophosphate (CPP) crystal arthritis resistant to first-line antiinflammatory therapy

NSAIDs: nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs.

* Resistance to first-line antiinflammatory therapy is defined as moderate to severe symptoms that are persistent or worsening despite 48 to 72 hours of treatment.
