Anterior slide test for superior labrum anterior to posterior (SLAP) tear
The patient places their hands on their hips with elbows pointed posteriorly. The examiner stabilizes the shoulder of the affected extremity using the hand closest to the patient. With the other hand, the clinician grasps the elbow of the affected extremity and applies an anterior and slightly upward force (noted by blue arrow). Pain at the anterior shoulder marks a positive test.
