Characteristic physical findings in Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease

Characteristic physical findings in Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease
Characteristic clinical features associated with several Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) subtypes include marked atrophy of the lower legs (also has been described as "stork leg" or "inverted champagne bottle" in appearance), high arches, varus deformity of the (right) foot, and wasting of the intrinsic muscles of the foot. The spectrum of clinical features across CMT subtypes is wide. Some features may be absent in some forms of CMT disease or may be inapparent in others, especially early in the course.
