Pontine demyelination in a patient with trigeminal neuralgia

Pontine demyelination in a patient with trigeminal neuralgia
Axial brain magnetic resonance imaging at the level of the trigeminal nucleus in the brainstem showing evidence of demyelination (arrows) in a patient with left-sided trigeminal neuralgia. Acute imaging sequences include diffusion weighted sequence (A), apparent diffusion coefficient sequence (B), fluid attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) sequence (C); imaging performed one month later includes T1-weighted (D) and T1-weighted postcontrast (E) sequences.
