Calcaneal apophysis

Calcaneal apophysis
The secondary ossification center for the calcaneal apophysis is densely sclerotic (arrows). This is a normal manifestation of the growing calcaneus. Often, the secondary ossification center is multisegmented. The multiserrated margins (arrowheads) at the junction with the calcaneal body are also common normal findings.
