Stevens-Johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysis affecting the mouth
Stevens-Johnson syndrome, or "SJS," is a rare but very serious problem that affects the skin. It can cause sores, swelling, and crusting on the pink, moist skin lining the mouth. A more severe form of SJS is called "toxic epidermal necrolysis," or "TEN."
