Nonspecific imaging findings in posttransplant bronchiolitis obliterans

Nonspecific imaging findings in posttransplant bronchiolitis obliterans

Imaging from a patient with bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome following bilateral lung transplantation.

(A) Chest radiograph shows hyperlucency and decreased vascularity of the upper lobes.

(B) High-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) at the level of the right upper lobe bronchus demonstrates diffuse decreased attenuation and vascularity throughout the upper lobes and right upper lobe bronchiectasis.

(C) HRCT at a lower level shows decreased attenuation and vascularity in the middle lobe, lingula and anteromedial segment of the left lower lobe, and relatively normal vascularity in the remaining lower lobes.
