Infectious bronchiolitis on high-resolution computed tomography

Imaging findings in a patient with infectious bronchiolitis.

(A) HRCT demonstrates bilateral lower lobe well-defined centrilobular nodules and branching opacities (tree-in-bud pattern). Also noted is bronchial wall thickening as well as bronchiectasis in the lingula.

(B) The tree-in-bud pattern is better seen on the 5 mm thick sections, but the lower spatial resolution precludes adequate assessment of the bronchial wall thickening and mild bronchiectasis.
