Transpyloric shuttle
The transpyloric shuttle is a weight loss device that is endoscopically placed into the distal stomach to block the pylorus and prevent food from moving into the duodenum. During ingestion of food, it is propelled forward by peristalsis to the pylorus and it becomes lodged in the pylorus, making the patient feel full.
