Right frontal intraparenchymal hemorrhage (subacute)

Right frontal intraparenchymal hemorrhage (subacute)
Initial noncontrast head CT (A) demonstrates a right frontal expansile hypodensity with extensive vasogenic edema and mass effect on the right lateral ventricle, suspicious for a hemorrhagic mass lesion. Precontrast (B) and postcontrast (C) T1-weighted and T2-weighted (D) MRI of the same day demonstrates an intrinsically T1-hyperintense, T2-hyperintense subacute parenchymal hemorrhage. The hemorrhage is hyperintense on susceptibility-weighted imaging (E). Follow-up imaging 6 weeks later (not shown) demonstrated resorption of the hemorrhage, resolution of edema and mass effect, and no evidence of an underlying mass lesion.
CT: computed tomography; MRI: magnetic resonance imaging.
