Rectus sheath block ultrasound, subcostal with oblique transducer placement
Rectus sheath block ultrasound, subcostal with oblique transducer placement
For this image the ultrasound transducer is placed obliquely along and just caudal to the costal margin. The arrowheads indicate the target between the RA and the posterior rectus sheath. Note that the TA provides a backstop against inserting the needle too far and potentially through the peritoneum. For further information refer to UpToDate content on rectus sheath block.
