ANSWER —

Incorrect.

The patient continues to have variable blood glucose levels, with alternating hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia and with hypoglycemia unawareness.

While the glycated hemoglobin (A1C) level is satisfactory, this patient's glycemia is not well managed. The A1C is an average value but does not give a measure of the variation around the mean value. In this case, the A1C level is excellent, but the average reflects many high values and many low values. The goal is to achieve the best possible glucose control that can be attained with little or no hypoglycemia.
