Pain and global activity scales

(A) Visual analog scales (VAS) for patient pain assessment, patient global assessment of disease activity, and evaluator (physician) global assessment of disease activity. A mark is placed at the presumed level of pain or disease activity between the two ends of a 100 mm line. Vertical lines can also be used as can 11-point numerical scales (0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 each 1 cm apart) or (B) Likert scales.
