NAS: neonatal abstinence syndrome.
* This protocol is based on the Finnegan scoring system, which is optimally employed in the perinatal period for term infants. NAS expression differs in preterm infants compared with term infants^[1]; however, currently there are no standardized scoring protocols for preterm infants.
