Prevalence of atrial fibrillation in chronic kidney disease patients
Prevalence of atrial fibrillation in chronic kidney disease patients
The prevalence (percent) of atrial fibrillation in the general population and different cohorts of patients with CKD are shown: While patients with peritoneal dialysis appear to suffer less frequently from atrial fibrillation, in those on hemodialysis, the prevalence was observed to be 10- to 20-fold higher than in the general population. Age was in all groups a key factor.
