Short leg splint

This series of photographs demonstrates the basic steps in the application of a standard short leg splint. Positioning the patient prone allows for easier positioning and application. When treating some conditions, angulation of the ankle may need modification. As an example, the ankle is placed in plantarflexion when managing Achilles tendon rupture.
