Histology of Grover's disease (transient and persistent acantholytic dermatosis)

Histology of Grover's disease (transient and persistent acantholytic dermatosis)
Histopathology demonstrates acantholytic keratinocytes leading to suprabasilar clefting. Dyskeratotic keratinocytes extend from the mid-epidermis to the stratum corneum. Hemorrhage is noted in the intraepidermal cleft secondary to the mechanical trauma of repeated scratching (hematoxylin and eosin staining, original magnification 400x).
