Heart rate recovery after exercise predicts mortality

Heart rate recovery after exercise predicts mortality
In a study of 2428 patients without known heart disease, an abnormal value for the recovery of heart rate, defined as a reduction of ≤12 beats per minute (bpm) from the heart rate at peak exercise, was associated with an increased risk of death. Circles represent the relative risk of death for each of the quintiles as compared with the fifth quintile which had the lowest risk of death; red lines represent the 95 percent confidence interval.
