With these devices, the patient inhales the medication in the form of a fine powder: (A) HandiHaler, (B) Neohaler, (C) Flexhaler, (D) Diskus, (E) Twisthaler, (F) Ellipta, (G) Pressair, (H) Respiclick. With single-dose devices (eg, A and B), a powder-filled capsule is placed in the device for each dose. With multiple-dose devices (eg, C-H), medication for multiple doses (often a month's supply) is contained within the device.
