Alcohol-associated hepatitis with severe cholestasis

This medium power view of a liver biopsy from a patient with alcohol-associated hepatitis shows severe cholestasis as shown by dark green pigment deposited within the cytoplasm of the hepatocytes. As is typical for alcohol-associated steatohepatitis, only a few scattered steatotic vacuoles may be present, as shown in this photomicrograph.
