Guidelines for spacing of live and inactivated antigens

Antigen combination	Recommended minimum interval between doses
Two or more inactivated	None; can be administered simultaneously or at any interval between doses
Inactivated plus live	None; can be administered simultaneously or at any interval between doses
Two or more live*	28-day minimum interval if not administered simultaneously

* An exception is made for live oral vaccines (ie, Ty21a typhoid vaccine, oral poliovirus vaccine, oral rotavirus vaccine) that can be administered simultaneously or at any interval before or after inactivated or live parenteral vaccines.
