Provocative doses of methacholine causing a 20 percent decrease in FEV1 (PD20) in five asthmatics during esophageal infusion of NaCl and HCl infusion (open and closed symbols for patients without and with GE reflux, respectively). The change in PD20 is shown for each subject.
