Antimicrobial gradient method

A commercially prepared strip containing a graded concentration of a specific antimicrobial is placed on a lawn of a standardized inoculum of bacteria. After incubation, the minimum inhibitory concentration is determined by identifying the intersection of the elliptical zone of growth inhibition with the strip.
