Preoperative functional class predicts outcome after valve replacement for aortic regurgitation
Patients who preoperatively have functional class III or IV symptoms have a lower survival rate compared with those with functional class I or II regardless of whether the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) is ≥50 percent (upper panel) or <50 percent (lower panel).
