Supraclavicular brachial plexus block

The ultrasound probe is placed in a transverse position just above the clavicle. The needle insertion site is guided by the ultrasound image, and is usually approximately where the red dot appears in the middle panel. The brachial plexus appears as a "bag of grapes" just lateral to the subclavian artery, as in the ultrasound image in the right panel.
