Survival in acute coronary syndromes

Among 12,142 patients entered into GUSTO IIb, the one-year survival was the same for those with an ST elevation (Q wave) or non-ST elevation (non Q-wave) myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) who did not have recurrent ischemia (90.4 versus 91.2 percent); a higher one-year survival was seen in patients presenting with unstable angina (93 percent, p <0.001).
