MRI of Grade III medial collateral ligament injury

These MRI images show a complete transverse tear through the MCL. The arrow points to the area of focal interruption of the normal dark fibers, with hemorrhage and edema surrounding the MCL. Fibers at the tear site are wavy. Note that it may be difficult to distinguish high-grade Grade II and Grade III tears.
